A British youth with a knack for solving puzzles and the unique ability to talk to animals, Luke Triton has been apprenticing under the wing of the famous Professor Hershel Layton for the past three years. On his journey with his mentor, he has seen strange towns, confusing ancient ruins, and labyrinthine villages while solving the mysteries of their history.Though still somewhat young and therefore prone to fault, he's a capable and dependable apprentice whom Layton can always count on. Luke strives to one day become a true gentleman, just like Hershel before him.

PERSONALITY.

Luke is a kind, earnest boy who is capable of being very modest and helpful in the company of others. He’s somewhat mature for his age, having seen a lot within his young life. He works well under pressure and is a determined young lad, but not infallible. Like all children his age, Luke is still prone to lose his temper and let out a snarky remark or quip toward people he doesn’t get along with. He can also be somewhat rash, acting impulse rather than reasoning, which can get him into trouble. For one so young, Luke also has a strong sense of altruism, which has both benefited him and brought him into danger.Luke is an incredibly intelligent boy with very adept puzzle-solving skills, and is capable of finding solutions to issues that most adults might have difficulty solving.Luke incredibly loyal to his mentor, and looks up to the Professor with great admiration. He’s an ambitious, mature youth who hopes to fulfill his goal of following in his mentor’s footsteps to become a true gentleman.

HISTORY.

An adventurous young protege, Luke was born in London, England, to Clark and Brenda Triton–old university friends of his future mentor’s. Sometime in his infancy, Luke moved with his family to the small town of Misthallery, a few hours outside of London. He had a somewhat easy upbringing, with his family being rather wealthy and having hired the company of a butler and housemaid. Despite all this, Luke grew into a rather modest child, and developed a keen interest in puzzles from a young age. He also began to develop his unique talent that he inherited from his father; the ability to communicate with animals. Long before he began his apprenticeship under Professor Layton, Luke honed this talent by speaking with some of the local wildlife.However, Luke’s somewhat uneventful life began to change around the age of ten, when a series of mysterious events began to plague the town of his upbringing. These events, including the disappearance of his mother, his father’s increasingly aloof disposition, and the appearance of a malicious specter, went on for six months and eventually lead to Luke enlisting the help of his father’s old friend; Professor Hershel Layton.With the help of the Professor and his new assistant, Emmy Altava, Luke managed to solve the case and reunite with his mother and father, restoring the conflict between them. Genuinely fascinated by the professor’s knowledge, young Luke requested to travel as an apprentice under him. After some discussion with his parents, Layton agreed, and took him to London to begin teaching him.Three years have passed since then, and through those years Luke has gone on many adventures under his mentor’s wing; from bumbling, strange towns to the ruins of ancient civilzations. However, he still has much to learn and grow from. Luke hopes to become a true gentleman like his mentor, and continue to make exciting discoveries in the years to come.
